I started December on vacation, so last month I read one beach read, followed by 4 holiday books. 2 were romance/BRADs and 2 were fiction. Below are my reviews of all 5 books, bringing my total book count of 2022 to 63! Buy some of the below holiday books, store them with your holiday décor, and then you will have a fun surprise next year!
My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I read this while on my recent cruise of the Caribbean, but this story takes place on Cape Cod. Our heroine is a glass half fill, energetic, elementary school teacher, who saved up to take her brother on vacation. However, upon arrival they discover a dead body in their rental house. Family of the deceased hire a PI, who happens to be a handsome, grump. While trying to solve the mystery, of course these two fall for each other. A cute, easy read.
The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny by Willa Nash-⭐⭐⭐ Natalie is a full time nanny, and had planned to take time off over the holiday. However, a short term assignment landed on her desk and she couldn't turn down. It is a 1 week job, helping a single dad with his daughter while they are in town visiting family. However, Natalie quickly recognizes the very attractive single dad as Maddox Holiday. her high school crush. Will he remember her? Will she be able to push past her crush and take care of his daughter for the week? Duh. While there is a Christmas Eve party, the story is not really a holiday romance. An average read, with a bit of steam. You can find the link below to buy the book on Bookshop.org, where all proceeds benefit local booksellers, or find it on Amazon here.
Winter Stroll (Winter #2) by Elin Hilderbrand- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is book 2 in the Winter Street series, by Elin. You do need to read the first, prior to this second book of the series. We pick up exactly where we left off. We have one Quinn in prison, one in a love triangle, one regretting decisions made last Christmas, one with a new baby, one missing in action, and one trying to hold everything together. Full of drama, love, and of course the magic of Nantucket over Christmas, this was a great second addition to the series! A Very Merry Bromance (Bromance Book Club #5) by Lyssa Kay Adams-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved this story! The 5th installment in the Bromance Book Club series, this standalone book is a wonderful holiday read! In this holiday edition, country music superstar Colton cannot stop thinking about the amazing connection he had with his one night stand Gretchen, a year ago… where she quickly loved him and left him. Now, she has a favor to ask of him, which will bring them back into each others lives. Full of family drama, the friends that become family, and of course romance, this book is a new holiday favorite of mine! Winter Storms (Winter #3) by Elin Hilderbrand- ⭐⭐⭐This is the 3rd book in the Winter Street series, and yes, you definitely need to read the first two to best comprehend the story. We pick up the spring after the last Christmas, and get nearly a full year with the Quinn family leading up to the next Christmas. Without giving away any spoilers, in this novel we have a wedding (or two), an engagement, a new love, an old love, a prison release, a drug problem, and hopefully a homecoming. A complicated family novel, full of drama, that is a super easy holiday read. Save this series for next year.
